This month’s Teacher Appreciation goes to Ceren Çalıcı. Teacher Ceren has been working as a Turkish language teacher for 18 years, aiming to make the process of learning Turkish exciting and engaging through her education and experience. She specialized in philosophy for children, gamification, storytelling, and teaching Turkish to foreigners. By harnessing the curiosity and creativity of children, she strives to make her lessons interactive and enjoyable. Ceren takes great pleasure in diversifying her lessons by using various tools and methods. She aims to keep students engaged by integrating technology, drama, art, and music into her classes. Building relationships with her students, understanding them, and creating lesson materials tailored to their needs are all important to her.
Ceren Çalıcı 18 yıldır Türkçe öğretmeni olarak çalışıyor. Eğitimi ve deneyimleriyle Türkçe dilini öğrenmeyi heyecan verici ve ilgi çekici bir deneyim hâline getirmek için çalışıyor. Özellikle çocuklar için felsefe, oyunlaştırma, hikâye anlatıcılığı ve yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi alanlarında yoğunlaşıyor. Çocukların meraklarını ve yaratıcılıklarını kullanarak derslerini etkileşimli ve eğlenceli hâle getirmeyi hedefliyor. Derslerini çeşitlendirmek için farklı araçlar ve yöntemler kullanmaktan büyük keyif alıyor. Teknoloji, drama, sanat ve müziği derslere entegre ederek öğrencilerin ilgisini canlı tutmayı amaçlıyor. Öğrencileriyle ilişki kurmayı, onları anlamayı ve ihtiyaçlarına yönelik ders materyalleri oluşturmayı önemsiyor.

Why do you enjoy using Quizalize in your classroom?
Quizalize makes learning fun and engaging. It lets me quickly set up quizzes and track student progress in real-time. Plus, it’s easy to use and saves me time in creating and grading assessments. By using Quizalize, I can create engaging learning experiences while also saving time and effort on assessment creation and grading. Quizalize makes learning fun and interactive, as it allows students to engage with the material while also competing against one another in a game-like environment. It encourages collaboration and competition, making learning more enjoyable and motivating students to do their best. Quizalize has proven to be an effective tool for assessing my student’s understanding of the material. By playing the quizzes, my students are able to quickly and accurately assess their understanding of the topics, which allows me to better understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Do your students enjoy playing Quizalize quizzes?
At first, my students were skeptical about using Quizalize as they had never used this type of technology before. However, they quickly adapted and began to enjoy the interactive and competitive nature of the quizzes. Now, they look forward to playing Quizalize quizzes and participating in various competitions.
Öğrencilerimi Quizalize kullanmaya alıştırmak ilk başta kolay olmadı, çünkü daha önce bu tür bir teknolojiyi kullanmamışlardı. What results have you seen in your students since using Quizalize in your classroom?
They not only demonstrate what they know but also have fun while doing it. I have seen a big improvement in their understanding of the topics, as they get immediate feedback and can get help if needed. Overall, using Quizalize has been a great success in my classroom.
