Quizalize: Student Response System

Today I worked with a 4th grade class that was reviewing place value, number sense and multiplication.

We started off our lesson by playing a review game using Quizalize. Quizalize is a student response system (similar to Kahoot, Quizizz, Class Responder, etc.) that really engages students! The teacher wanted to review place value and number sense with her students so I made a quick review game. Making quizzes in Quizalize is easier than ever!

Once you create your FREE teacher account and are ready to make a quiz, simply click “+New Quiz” and add your questions. You can add images, change your timer for each question, etc.. I also like how you can add an explanation for the correct answers. Questions can be multiple choice or unscramble the letters in the answer.

Will you Quizalize your Class Progress?

One of my most popular posts is this one, a comparison of Kahoot!, Socrative, and Quizizz, three great formative assessment tools. Each of them has a quizzing feature with some gaming elements that make learning fast-paced and fun. This week I tried Quizalize, another formative assessment tool that will give them some competition with some of their best features plus some extras.

Quizalize is number 1 in S’Cool Tools for Q3, 2015

And our highest-clicked tool, winning by a landslide of clicks…

1. Quizalize — Free: Tired of using Quizlet? Quizalize might be another fun option for you to test out with your students this coming year. You can generate your own quizzes or pick one from the Quizalize Marketplace, and then track student progress with instant assessments for personalized learning on a laptop, tablet or smartphone. One caveat—the tool is only browser-based at the moment.

Quizalize – A Fun Quiz Platform

Quizalize is a newer quiz game platform that reminds me of Kahoot. Like Kahoot, students play your quiz games on their laptops or tablets by going to the Quizalize website then entering their names and a class code. Students are awarded points for correctly answering questions quickly. Students are given feedback instantly on every quiz question that they answer. A total score is presented to students at the end of every quiz.

Online Learning Game Site Quizalize Adds New Feature I Like A LOT

Quizalize is a relatively new addition to The Best Ways To Create Online Tests. It’s very similar to Kahoot.

My big critique of both Quizalize and Kahoot has been that neither have allowed students to see how they are faring against their classmates in answering the questions, which is an important component (used appropriately) in using them as games. That’s why I’ve featured an alternative called Quizizz on my The Best Websites For Creating Online Learning Games list over the first two. Quizizz lets students see their standing in the competition.
